He was predeceased by: his brother-in-law Chet Deaver. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie; his daughter Holly Garner (Chris Garner); his grandsons, Alex and Preston Garner; and his sisters, Dianne Deaver, Alicia Erwin (Gregg Erwin) and Yvonne Clinkscale (Tim Clinkscale). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Wounded Warrior Project or to Lane Prairie Baptist Church in Joshua, Texas.
