He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ray; his children, Stephanie Ray (Melanie), Lucillia Mercer (James), Jonathan McElhaney (Ray), Richard McElhaney and Randall McElhaney; his grandchildren, Madison, Caleb, Skyler, Layla, Jacob, Lilly, Gavin, Adison, Braxton, Jeremiah, Raylee, Saddie, Mariah and Daylan; and his brothers, JC Ray, Jr. and Roger Dale Ray.
