He was predeceased by: his parents, James Elder and Betty Elder; his siblings, Farrell Elder and Elizabeth Bostick; and his siblings-in-law, L. C. Johnson (Butch) and Sylvia Elder.
He is survived by: his wife Maureen; his sons, Shawn (Shannon) and David (Cindy); his grandchildren, Alyssa, Alec, Brianne, Kylie and Aaron; and his siblings, John Elder, Patsy Johnson and Linda Williamson.
In lieu of flowers the family have asked donations be made to Lane Prairie Baptist Church.
