With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melva Jane Lightsey of Jonesboro, Texas, who passed away on February 2, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Truett and Susie Quesenberry Lightsey; her brother Joe Truett Lightsey; and her siblings-in-law, Flo Lightsey and Nathaniel Foote, Jr. (Sonny).
She is survived by: her sisters, Paula Foote and Sue Lightsey; her nephews, Than Foote (Traci) and Joe Foote (Crystal); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Hallie Foote, Bracy Foote, Wade Foote, Truett Foote and Pate Foote.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Melva Jane Lightsey Outstanding Scholar Award, the Jonesboro Cemetery Association or the charity of your choice.
