He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Edward Melton and Mary Louise McCutchen; his wife Kathie Denice Jones; his in-laws, John and Lavetta Jones; his sister Nancy; his brothers-in-law, Bud and James; and his grandson Edward Melton.
He is survived by: his children, Michial Melton and Karlene Buster; and his grandchildren, Tyler, Brittany, Chase, Preston, Kelby, John-Michial, Brianna, Mathew, Courtney, Gerritt, Lance and Faith. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
