He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Andrew Summy and Joan Richardson Summy; his sister Julie Weiershausen; and his father-in-law Erwin Goebel. He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann Summy; his daughters, Tara Calzoncit (Rick) and Kendra Turner; his grandchildren, Katlinn, Ashlinn, Audrey, Colt and Cody; his mother-in-law Opal Goebel; his siblings, Vicky Patton and Curt Summy (Rita); his sister-in-law Joan Marasek; and his nieces and nephews, Tony Stevenson (Gayla), Shannon Stevenson (Mary), Wynn Stevenson (Kathy), Chris Stevenson (Holly), Brandon Weiershausen (Jennifer), Caroline Scott (Nick), Celeste Medulla (Cory), Claudia Rincon (Jaime), Taylor Summy (Michael Trevino), Brandon Eller (Becky) and Shauna Eller (Heather). He is also survived by many great nieces, nephews and dear friends.
