It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carrie Melissa Hazelton of Jewett, Texas, born in Pell City, Alabama, who passed away on September 6, 2024, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Carrie Melissa departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Carrie Melissa may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Carrie Melissa leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her father Jake Robert Truitt; and her siblings, Richard Keith Truitt, Billy Ray Truitt and Wanda Kay Truitt. She is survived by: her mother Nettie Louise Truitt of Brazoria; her husband Durwin Lee Hazelton of Jewett; her brother Dennis Earl Truitt of Brazoria; and her children, Dustin Ray Hazelton of Kennard, Jonathon Wayne Hazelton of Hamilton and Tiffany Ann Harrell of Buffalo. She is also survived by ten grandkids and six great-grandchildren, as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.
