He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosario Joseph and Josephine Cimino Messina; and his wife Lillie. He is survived by: his children-in-law, Ross Messina, Kathleen Warren and Sam Messina, Jr.; his grandchildren, Joanna Andersen (Matthew), Randy Hicks, Stacy Summers (Joe), Krystal Smith (Andrew), Jason Wallace (Adriana), Brian Wallace, Alan Wallace (Tiffany), Marcus Wallace (Valencia), Thomas Warren (Margot) and Lindsay Sanborn (Justin); and his great grandchildren, Allie Hicks, Jocelyn Williams, Dylan Seaman, Ryan, Cameron Summers, Kinsley, Ashton Smith, Mia, Morgan, Lucas Wallace, Preslie, Ethan, Sam Wallace, Owen, Kipp, Cade Wallace, Hayden, Isaiah Wallace, Easton Cardona-Kenny, Avery, Jack Warren and Claira Sanborn. He is also survived by his children JoVirgil Christmas, daughter.
