With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Laverne Johnson-Hall of Jefferson, Texas, born in Liberty, Texas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. As we bid Laverne farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Laverne is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hershel M. Crum and Minne Thornton Crum; and her former husband Myrl Johnson. She is survived by: her husband Sonny Hall; her sons, Melvin Johnson (Elisha), Milton Johnson (Robin) and Mike Johnson (Luann); her stepdaughter Rhonda Tyson (Mitch); and her caregiver Martha Martinez. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Jefferson Academy Seventh Day Adventist Church (3000 FM728, Jefferson, TX 75657).
