We bid farewell to John P. Watson Jr. of Jefferson, Texas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 1, 2024 at the age of 85. John touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, John P. Watson, Jr. of Jefferson and Ollie Beatrice Watson; and his siblings, Sue Paul and Don Watson. He is survived by: his wife Doris M. Schindewolf Watson; his sons, John P. Watson, III (Trey) and Donald R. Watson; his grandchildren, Suzanne Stone Garrett and Sharilynn Stone Hawkins; his daughters, Suzanne Garrett and Sharilynn Hawkins; his grandchildren, Taylor Lyn Watson, John Rachal, Jared Rachal and Kyle Mikulenka; his great grandchildren, Jackson Rachal, Pierce Rachal, Davis Rachal, Jacob Mikulenka and Liam Mikulenka; and his siblings, Johnnie Peck and Tom Watson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, son in law, and daughter in law.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home (203 E Clarksville St, Jefferson, TX 75657). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, his wishes were for donations to be made to First Baptist Church Texarkana's TV ministry, in which he and his wife Doris enjoyed Sunday mornings together.
