He is survived by: his wife Beverly Varnell of Jefferson; his sons, Barry Varnell of Linden, Bart Varnell of Jefferson and Bryan Varnell of Jefferson; his sister Ann Nicholson of Gilmer; his grandchildren, Brad, Ashlyn, Brayden, Brennan, Brancen, Braley and Baylor; his great grandchildren, Blaine of Chloe and Sadie; and also Amy of Jefferson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
