She was predeceased by: her parents, Josh Thomas and Mary Ethel Burks King; her husband Waldon Russell Howard Sr.; her son Waldon Russell Howard Jr.; and her sister Maggie Rose.

She is survived by: her children, Sheila Peters (Butch) of Roanoke, VA and Dennis Howard (Phyllis) of Jasper, TX; and her close friend Joe Maddox. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
