He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Paul and Mollie Belle Hilderbrand; his siblings, Jake Hilderbrand and Janet Hallmark; and his brother-in-law Cotton Simmons.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Cooper Hilderbrand of Jasper, Texas; his sons, Paul Hilderbrand (Judy) of The Villages, Lequin Hilderbrand (Joy) of Jasper and Keith Hilderbrand of Jasper; his stepchildren, Paul Cooper (Clarissa) of Jessup, Georgia, Jeff Cooper (Robin) of Mayflower, Calvin "Bear" Cooper (Mary) of Jasper and Bonnie Cooper of Kountze, Texas; and his sister Virginia "Gin" Simmons of Pasadena, Texas. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren;a host of great-grandchildren; two nephews and one niece.
