He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Gilley and Ruby Gilley; and his siblings, Bobby Gilley, Elmer Gilley, Tommy Ray Gilley and Nancy Pratt.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Gilley of Jasper, Texas; his children, John Gilley, Jr. (Delores) of Jasper, Texas and Patricia Rankin (Doug) of Phoenix, AZ; his siblings, Everett Gilley of Kirbyville, Texas, Marvin Gilley of Kirbyville, Texas, Yvonne Cole of Kirbyville and Ann Ferguson of Center; and his grandson Christopher Poe.
