He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Blanchard and Fabiola Blanchard; his former wife Ruth Rogers Blanchard; his son Wayne Blanchard; his brother Roland T. Blanchard; and his stepgrandson Jeffery Allyn Howard.
He is survived by: his wife Ester Blanchard of Jasper, Texas; and his stepchildren, Genie Howard of Emory, Texas and Mack Simmons (Kay) of Bon Wier, Texas. He is also survived by six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3196 US Highway 190 West, Jasper, Texas 75951.
