He was predeceased by: his parents, Pink Smith and Susie Smith; his wife Gladys Smith; his siblings, Hazel Rash, Atrail Ford, J. W. Smith and Donald Smith; and his stepdaughters, Barbara DuBose and Wendy Stanfield.
He is survived by: his children, Ronnie Joe Smith (Debra Kay) of Gary, Texas, Doris Morton of Nacogdoches, Texas and Anna Rustin (Jimmie) of Nacogdoches, Texas; his stepson Roddy McCoy (Mary Jane) of Jasper, Texas; his daughters, Selena Smith of Jasper and Skylar Smith of Jasper; and his siblings, Roy Smith (Yvonne) of Jasper and Gladys Gallaway of San Augustine, Texas. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
