He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmie Stearns and LaFray Stearns; his sister Jewel "Marie" Stearns Mitchell; and his brother-in-law Wayne Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Shayrol "Shay" Stearns; his children, Douglas Bradley Stearns (Virgie) and Katharine Marie Stearns Beran (Kyle); his grandchildren, Jesse Felter, Crystal Stearns Preston, Chad Preston, Nikki Stearns Urekar, Megan Stearns Garner, Dale Andrew Beran, Michael Stearns and Lyndsay Beran; and his great grandchildren, Ty Crothers, Chase Preston, Lillyana Urekar, Caeden Preston, Cecilia Preston and Larry Gaylon Stearns.
