John Drillette Schmitt Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Drillette Schmitt of James, Texas, born in Louisville, Kentucky, who passed away on August 15, 2022, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elizabeth Drillette and Herman Schmitt II; his grandchild Courtney; his wife Marilyn Ann Cooper; his children, Patrick Leonard (Paige) of Boulder, CO, Avery, Brynn and Robert Leonard (Marian) of Dallas, TX; his grandchild Harper; his son Jason Schmitt (Sheila) of Austin, TX; his grandchildren, Elizabeth (Ellie) and Cooper; and his daughter Courtney Kratz (Michael Kratz) of Houston, TX.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Spondylitis Association of America (spondylitis.org) to support further research for Ankylosing Spondylitis, a chronic condition Jim suffered from for many years.
