He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gonzalo Garcia and Andrea Herrera; his adoptive father Jose Prieto (James Prieto); his former wife Maria Cecilia Martinez; his daughters, Maria Valentina Christophe (Andrew), Stephanie Prieto, Jennifer Prieto and June Prieto; his former spouse Guadalupe Ursua; his daughter Laurie Martinez; his stepchildren, Baldemar, Simon Quinones and Benita; his siblings, Rick Prieto (Alejandra) of Lubbock, Luis Prieto of Lubbock, Herlinda Prieto of Lubbock, Zenaida Prieto Mendez (Carlos) of Euless, Frank Garcia, Graciela Sanchez, Elva Martinez, Maria Ramirez, Valentina Loa (Che) of Weatherford and Raul Garcia of San Antonio; his stepmother Ramona Garcia; his wife Lupe; his siblings, Selestino Soto, Alicia Perez Prieto, Beneficia Prieto, Guadalupe Aguayo and Jesse Garcia; his grandsons, James Christophe of Miguel, Alfaro, Zayden "Coy" Martinez, Deiari Pollard, Simon J. Quinones and Nikolas Quinones; and also James Gamboa. He was also cherished by 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to San Ramon Catholic Church for the new parish hall/Family Life Center.
