He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene E. Alsandor and Syble Steel Jefferson; his uncle Eddie; his stepfather William Jefferson; his uncle Edward Knott (Eddie); and his brother Aaron Hall.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Alsandor, Janice Cherry (Rufus), Eugene "Freddie" Alsandor (Renee) and Cheryl Alsandor; his siblings, Carolyn White, Syble Sorina, James Alsandor (Ruth), Therosine White (Warren), Milton Steel and Edna Jefferson (Al); and also Eddie Knott. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson.
Gene retired in 1999 and in 2006 was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
