He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurico Muñiz (Jacinta Calvillo) and Guanajuato; his wife Manuela Balderas; and his siblings, Rupertino, Mateo, Arcadio Muñiz and Anastacia Muñiz.
He is survived by: his children, Rafael Muñiz (Eofracia), Manuel Muñiz, Juan Muñiz, Urbano Muñiz (Benita), Maria of Jesus Muñiz, Trini Rangel (Mario) and Helida Rico (Agustin); and his grandsons, Marco Rangel, Jovany Rangel, Juan Omar Rico, Orlando Rico, Leonel Rico, Cristian Muñiz, Edgar Muñiz and Joel Muñiz. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
