He was predeceased by: his parents, Rafael Benavides and Romona Galvan; his brothers, Joe Fernandez, Ralph Benavidez, Eddie and Tye Benavides; and the mother of his children Olga Galvan.
He is survived by: his wife Nora Galvan; his children, Becky Nolley (Michael), Randy Galvan (Erika), Brandy Garcia, Stephen Galvan, Alex Garcia (Vanessa), Sonny Galvan Jr. (Blanca), Ricky Garcia (Robin), Eric Galvan (Mari) and Laura Galvan; and his siblings, Johnny Fernandez (Pam), Robert Fernandez, Irma Fernandez, Sylvia Fernandez, Janie Reyes (Joe), Rosie Ybarra (Gilbert), Linda Herrington (Richie) and Belen Martinez. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren (with one on the way); 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
