He is survived by: his wife Frances Coleman of Jacksonville; his children, Samuel Coleman of Chandler and Debra Watts; his granddaughter Samantha Coleman; his stepchild Susan Jones; his siblings, Sara E. Capello and Jack R. Coleman; and his grandson Melvin Coleman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville.
