She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugenio Cardenas and Vicenta Cardenas (Arizola); her husband Joe Renteria; her sons, Eric Renteria and Ernest Renteria; and her grandson Michael Shingleton.

She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara Collins and Elizabeth Chenault; her grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, Molly, Sage, Karen, Bryce and Taylor; her great grandchildren, Hayley, Carlysle, Alexander, Brendan and Sophia; and her siblings, Sylvia Diaz, Amelia Escoto, Paul Cardenas, Alfred Cardenas (Gloria) and Gavin Cardenas. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
