He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicolas Velasquez and Mary Arellano Jenkins. He is survived by: his wife Lisa; his children, Andrew, Elliott and Malia Byers (Jason); his grandchildren, Nico and London; his siblings, Elizabeth Chavez (Freddy), Alice Hagemann (Jeff), David and Donald Polk; and his stepchildren, Serena and David (Jeff).

A memorial service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel (606 W Airport Fwy, Irving, TX 75062).
