He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Marie Reese and David Maxwell Reese; his sister Gayle Marie Wohlers; and his great grandchild Bailey Reese. He is survived by: his wife Lisbeth Sue Reese (Johnston); his children, DiDi McClellan, Tonya Long, David Reese (Leslye Reese), Greg Reese, Travis Reese and Keith Reese; his grandchildren, Lacy (Caleb Lain), Landon (Melissa Meeker), Libby (Joseph Hutchinson), David Ellis, Danielle Ellis, David Bailey (Dejanae Reese), Chris (Britney Reese), Kristen (Jarvis Brown), Colton (Mary Kate Reese), Grant Reese, Eiland Reese and Astrid Reese; and his great grandchildren, Sparrow, Laylah, Israel Lain, Sutton, Cambrie Meeker, Harlow Cary, Joan Hutchinson, Aiden, Ava, Aarilyn, Aubrielle Reese, Brayden, Bronson, Brynn Reese, Mackenzie Brown and Carter Reese.
He began coaching in 1953 and retired in 2003, being ultimately inducted into the Irving Sports Hall of Fame in 1981 for his long career in sports and contributions to the community.
