He was predeceased by: his wife Eleanor Chaffin; his parents, William "Lee" Chaffin and Irene Sparks Chaffin; his stepmother Kate Chaffin; and his brother Alivin Loyd "Buddy" Chaffin.
He is survived by: his children, Karen and Kent Chaffin (Linda) of Iredell; his grandsons, Jamey V. Chaffin of Iredell and Roy Nolan Chaffin of Euless; his great grandchild Jack Elliott Chaffin of San Antonio; his sisters, Wilma Loader of Lampasas and Vonnie "Tink" Master of Belton; and also Annette Parido.
