He was predeceased by: his parents, Willem Vanderveen and Lena Raap Vanderveen; his sisters, Skip Walker and Ida Vanderveen; and his brother-in-law Dick Walker.

He is survived by: his wife Alice Vanderveen; his children, Leigh Cripe (Dustin) of Midland, TX, Amy Marsar (Don) of Katy, TX and John Vanderveen (Kristie) of Stanton, TX; his grandchildren, Emma Clymer, Mitchell Clymer, Carter Cripe of Midland, TX, Lindsay Marsar, Matthew Marsar of Katy, TX, Gabrielle Vanderveen and Garrett Vanderveen of Stanton, TX; his siblings, Edie Martin (Wayne) of Berwick, PA, John Vanderveen (Tina) of San Antonio, TX and Peter Vanderveen (Bonnie) of Estes Park, CO; and his brother-in-law Jack Cornish (Mary). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
