He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

“Leon Skoruppa was my BEST friend while in the military. After he left I lost contact with him, but around 2010-2012 I made my last ditch effort to contact him, and I thank God for the lady at the newspaper in Taft Texas she helped me. I don't want to remember his dead, I remember him alive!! "OLD SOLDIERS DON'T DIE! THEY JUST PASS AWAY!!" hopefully I will see him at the resurrection day when Jesus returns!! 1 Thessalonian 4:16-17!!”
