She was predeceased by: her parents, Earnest Franklin and Bertha Wood (Sandusky) of Virginia; her husband Gerald McDowell; her grandson Sean McDowell; and her son-in-law Kelly Sullins.

She is survived by: her children, Glen McDowell (Donnalee) of Hiram, Billy R. McDowell (Annie) of Morris and Dianna Sullins of Morris; and her brother Roger Wood of Broken.
