She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Bruce Isom; her mother Charlie Mae DeBusk Meinecke; her sister Estelle; and her brother-in-law Billy Johnson. She is survived by: her sons, Larry Bruce Isom (Jan), Kenneth Wayne Isom (Julie) and Charles Rex Isom (Nancy); her grandchildren, Larry Brent Isom (Dru), Dr. Ginger Isom-Batz (Richard, Jr.), Kendra Isom Burris (Scott), Isaac Wayne Isom (Emily), Karla Estelle Morrison, Clayton Bruce Isom (Lauren), Ember Dawn Isom and Travis Joe Isom (Shannon); and her brother-in-law Dr. Ottis Wayne Isom (Pat).

These lifelong sweethearts wed April 18, 1947, and remained married until Bruce's demise on April 2, 2020, during Covid, thus ending an inseparable bond of mutual love and respect.
