He is survived by: his former wife Linda Kay Spruiell; his children, Kenneth Smith (Denise) of Reno, Michael Hoyt (Meghan) of LaGrange, Teresa Smith Brooks of Nevada and Heather Birkenfield (Martin) of Amarillo, Texas; and his brother Richard Hoyt (Cindy) of Canton, Texas.
