She was predeceased by: her parents, Eddie James Sr. and Ernestine Lester; her husband Eugene Bowers; her son Willie "Blue" James Nealy Jr. (Debra); and her grandson Alex Nealy.
She is survived by: her sons, Michael Bowers, Jimmy Bowers, Antonio Nealy Sr. and King Nealy-Bowers Sr. (Lorie); and her siblings, Eddie James Jr. (Brenda), Gail James Huey-You (Gary), Sandra James, Thalrece James and Ruby Mathews.
