He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Register and Minnie Withers Register; and his siblings, Rita Wheeler and William Charles Register. He is survived by: his wife Mary Sue Register; his children, Christopher Lynn Lara (Jeannie Williams Lara), Heath Lara (Kristi Renee Lara) and Karen Ann Lara; his grandchildren, Darian Sable Williams, Cali Elizabeth Hollers, Peyton Thomas Lara, Christian Kennedy Lara, Cruise Thomas Lara, Katie Nicole Aden, Gavrielle and Grayce Flisowski; his great grandchildren, Easton Scott Womack and Everli Brooke Hollers; and his siblings, Joe Lee Register (Barbara Register), Joyce Lynn Burnett, Claudia Luce and Charlotte Arnold (Johnny). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home - Huntsville (1700 Normal Park Dr, Huntsville, TX 77340). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Jerry Bob Register to PONY Baseball and Softball League or a future endowment account for the Baseball Program and ROTC at Sam Houston State University, to be set up by the Register family in the near future.
