Leroy left this world on April 24, 2025 at the age of 84, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Johny Smith and Gladys Smith (Simmons); and his siblings, James, Raymond Smith, Allie Bell Nichol and Edith Jenkins.
He is survived by: his wife Mary E. Smith of Huntington; his children, Julie (Karl Davis) of Huntington, Leroy Smith, Jr. of Lufkin and Raymond (Shaye Smith) of Huntington; his grandchildren, Savannah (Theo McWhorther) of Lufkin, Kyle (Meghan Davis) of Friendswood, TX, Johny (Patricia Smith) of Huntington, Jessica Smith of Huntington, Katie (Blake Stone) of DeKalb, TX, Nathan (Libby Smith) of Bogota, TX and Jacob (Alyssa Smith) of Huntington; his great grandchildren, Jaycee, Lincoln, Holden, Jaxton and Hayden; and his sister Johnnie Mae Armstrong. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Highway Missionary Baptist Church (212 S Main St, Huntington, TX 75949).
