She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Dees and Ruby Smith; her husband Curtis Tanner; and her siblings, Evelyn Straham, Ann Lee and Dearl Dees.

She is survived by: her children, Justin Tanner (Alisa) of Splendora, Anita Hall of Daisetta, Debra Alfaro (Antonio) of Houston, Wendy Tanner (Steven Litwiller) of Louisiana and Mollie Carethers of Hull; and her sister Claudine Fregia of Hull.
