He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Royal and Lottie Royal; and his son Julius Smith. He is survived by: his cousin Bessie Mae; his sister Annie Mae Todd of Mt. Pleasant; his children, William Earl (Janice Royal), Venita (Alan Williams), Delvern (Angela Royal) and Stephanie Royal of Longview; his close friend Hawatha; and also Verdell Rushing.
