He was predeceased by: his parents, Vance Irvin and Eulala Irvin; and his children, Reginald Myers Irvin, Robert Preston Merrill, Sharon Maurine Taylor and Regina Lee Parks.
He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Irvin of Hughes Springs; his children, Pamela Pettingill of Daingerfield, Melonie Johnston of Texarkana, Lisa Irvin of Atlanta and Clay; his daughter-in-law Debbie Irvin of Gilmer; and his pets, Brutus and Honey. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
