He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Hoyt Black and Ethel Id Wallace Black; his brothers, Henry Hoyt, Jr. and Richard Black; his son David Rodney Black, Jr.; his wife Sue Key Black; and his siblings-in-law, Joyce Black, Wayne Beals and Carlee Key.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tonya, Byron Compton, Jeannie and J. C. Anderson; his brother Henry Black (Mary); his grandchildren, James (Allison Duke), Kelli (Richie Rumbo), Jantzen (Amanda Foster), Haley (Brandon Farmer), Colby (Sierra Anderson) and Trent Anderson (Pamala Marshall); and his great grandchildren, Jaycee, Kellan, Hudson, Hendrix, Rylee, Trip, Kingston, Aiden, Serenity, Evie, Prinston and Easton.
