With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gayle Thomas Carnes most recently of Howe, Texas, born in Wetumka, Oklahoma, who passed away on March 1, 2021 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Violet Carnes and Tom Carnes; his wife Elsie Carnes; his step-daughter Jerri Sparks (Jeff); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn of Melissa, Texas., Joshua of Melissa, Texas. and Emma Carnes of Frisco, Texas.; his two sons, Thomas of Fredericksburg, Texas and John Carnes of Lewisville, Texas, and his daughter Christy Lynn Carnes of Lakeway, Texas (who predeceased him).
The family respectfully requests that all attendees exercise social distancing and wear face protection, and we will provide masks for those who do not have them. Gayle's death is a testament to the fact that, while the end of this pandemic is in sight, the COVID virus remains a very real and serious threat.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the charitable organization of your choice, particularly those charities providing relief to those most impacted by the pandemic.
