She was predeceased by: her parents, Aquilla Chaney and Q. B. Gavin; her siblings, Jerry Chaney, Bernard Chaney and Barbara Jolly; and her grandson Trent Handley.
She is survived by: her partner Linda Arnold of Houston, TX; her son Olanrewaju "Larry" Handley of Raleigh, NC; and her grandchildren, Montrell (Massachusetts), Larry, Taja of Louisville, KY and Tyuss of Fayetteville, NC. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
