She is survived by: her daughter Gwendolyn Hightower (Charles) of Houston, TX; her grandchildren, Ginia Hamilton, Bernard Cunningham, LaTonya, LaShonda Cunningham and Odell Jamar Hamilton; her sisters, Verline Brown and Evelyn Ellis; and her close friends, Doll Sheppard and Mary Ann Payne. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren; two great great –grandchildren.
