She was predeceased by: her parent Raquel Garcia; and her sisters, Dora Garcia and Malena Garcia. She is survived by: her husband Mario David Leija; her children, Mario Leija, Pedro Vergara Garcia, Susan Leija and Viviana Leija (Marcos Casares); her sisters, Jeannette Vergara Garcia and Margarita Garcia; and her grandchildren, Angelica Leija, Madelynne Leija Casares, Brianna Leija Murillo and Mario Leija III.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Compean Funeral Home (2102 Broadway St, Houston, TX 77012). A rosary was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery (6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023).
