He was predeceased by: his parents, Hal Thornton Kain and Anne Marie Hinerman Kain; his siblings, Nancy and Bill; his son Jeff; and his stepson Scott.
He is survived by: his wife Leona; his children, Rob (Sharon), Karen and Susan; his stepchildren, Steve, Sharon and Stuart (Linda); his grandchildren, Zak (Leslie), Abby (Keegan), Shawn (Aimee), Joseph, Katherine (Evelyn), Logan (Ashley) and Jeff (Chloe); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Lexi, Angelina, Ellie, Skylar and Amelia; and his siblings, Jack and Debbie. He is also survived by children and adored their 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Bob worked for NASA for 35 years and trained many astronauts across several programs to prepare them for their missions, which made his family very proud of his contribution to the US Space Program.
