She was predeceased by: her father Agapito Chavez, Sr.; her siblings, Agapito Chavez, Jr. and Ermelinda "Linda" Dyer; and her granddaughter Migalyn Wagner. She is survived by: her mother Ramona Puentez Chavez; her daughters, Joyce Marie Chavez and Tanesha Wagner (Mike); her siblings, Gloria Chavez (Rick), Rose Nies (Rob), Maggie Katzer (Troy), Maria Mallette (Richard), Melissa Chavez (Rodger), Angel Chavez (Lidia), Raymond Chavez (BJ), Richard Chavez (Jill), Tony Chavez, Henry Chavez (Regina) and Steve Chavez (Rita); and her grandchildren, Qayne Chavez (Justin), Michael Wagner III, Javon Chavez and Mikayah Wagner. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A prayer was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church (9900 Stella Link Rd, Houston, TX 77025). A celebration of life was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Houston Memorial Gardens (2426 Cullen Blvd, Pearland, TX 77581).
