She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Phelps and Georgia Rose Phelps. She is survived by: her daughter Mildred Byrd; her grandchildren, Tina Kennedy and Andre Byrd (Stacie); and her great grandchildren, Lauryn, Joseph and John Jr.. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Blueridge Baptist Church (9621 Chesterfield Dr, Houston, TX 77051). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Paradise Cemetery South (16001 Cullen Blvd, Houston, TX 77048).
