He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Luther Lynn Zarr and Elizabeth Sinclair Flowers; his stepfather Elliot G. Flowers; and his sister Lucy Zarr Foyt. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Strater Zarr; his sons, Lynn Sinclair Zarr, Jr., David Strater Zarr (Nicole Domercq Zarr) and Jefferey Powell Zarr (Brooke Burney Zarr); his stepsiblings, Elliott Flowers Jr. and Leigh Flowers Bonner; and his grandchildren, Lynn "Luke" Zarr, III, Mackenzie Nicole Zarr, Elinor "Ellie" Zarr, John Strater Zarr, Riley Kate Zarr, Jake Powell Zarr, Annie Elizabeth Zarr and Cooper William Zarr.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, September 11th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Grace Bible Church (6325 Hurst St, Houston, TX 77008).

“We've been friends with Lynn and Sherry since we were teen-agers. We married four days apart and had fun visits, as young married couples, us spending week-end in Ft. Worth and them visiting us in Austin. Lynn had the best smile of anyone and he could tell hilarious tales. We have wonderful memories of Hunt escapades - the guy's "Hunt Group" and the PoPo dinner reunions with the Coates, Ledbetters, Jones, Crosswell's and Gillman's. Heaven awaits him.!”
