He was predeceased by: his parents, Tommie Calvin Phillips and Alois Bivens Burns (Christian Experience); and his brother Calvin Phillips. He is survived by: his sister Freda Phillips; his wife Connie Williams Phillips; his daughters, Tina Phillips and Kena Phillips Ardoin (late Lance); his godsons, Reshard Beverly and Ralph Baldridge; his grandchildren, Christopher Phillips, Xzaveon Cofield, Julius Cofield, Lance Adorin, Jr., Brody Murray, Khristian Davis and Raliegh Beverly; and his great grandchildren, Kristopher Phillips and Jermiah Cofield.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Troy B. Smith Professional Services Chapel (9013 Scott St, Houston, TX 77051). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the East Macedonia Baptist Church (8630 Duane St, Houston, TX 77051). A burial was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at the Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038).
