He was predeceased by : his wife Frances Ann Freeland; his former life partner Patty Duckett Freeland; and his siblings, Dorothy Kuchar, Margaret Penry, Myrtle Mae Freeland and Jimmy Freeland.

He is survived by : his daughters, Patricia Crump (Mark) and Sandy Jackson (Scott); his granddaughters, Jennifer Shelton (Verstandt), Lori Chappell (John) and Sondra Joji (Keith); and his great grandchildren, Frank, Joy Chappell, Eleanor and Wesley Joji.
