He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Owens, Jr. and Lillie Martin Owens; his siblings, Gilbert III, Johnny, James, Brenda and Rodney; and his grandson Joshua Elijah Jackson.
He is survived by: his former wife Vanessa Owens of Paterson; his children, Jesse Ray Owens Jr. of Amarillo, TX and Jessica C. Jackson; his son-in-law Derrick Jackson; his granddaughter Kiera Jackson; his brother George Owens of Chicago; his cousins, Roland Owens of Walterboro and Rolanda Owens-Gadson of Columbia; his aunt Barbara Martin of New York; his sisters-in-law, Delores Owens of Walterboro, Jeanice Owens of Mayfield Heights, Illinois and Patricia Owens of Titusville, Florida; his caregivers, Chee and Earnie Patterson; and also Jessica. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the City Life Church (7120 Grand Blvd, Houston, TX 77054). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
